Kick Out the Blue; Kick Out Health Woes
If you’re feeling down and afraid it might start pulling you farther, here’s what you might do to kick the blues and lift yourself. Doing so will kick many unwelcome health woes.
Step 1: Change something
Change whatever you’re doing at the moment. Breaking away from the routine would allow you to take in fresh air. Get moving and do something you haven’t done before like cooking, playing instruments or pick up the crochet or knitting hooks and create some projects. You can also keep your hand busy by painting. The point here is shifting your energy from your usual routine to something new.
Step 2: Do volunteering works
It has been proven that people who do volunteering works are less likely to feel depressed. It could be the feeling of doing something for others than one self that makes one self gratified, which helps in lifting up spirits. Choose a cause you believe and sign up for some volunteering works. Some do it through spiritual practice like prayers or meditation. The key point is giving back and that’s just how to start it off.
Step 3: Being kind to yourself
It’s not selfishness to practice self-love and care, and experts suggest having some old fashioned self-compassion as a simple spirit booster. Buy something for yourself, treat yourself some pampering such as a day at the spa, having your nails done at a nail salon and other self-care ideas that will make you feel better and renewed. The first one that you must practice kindness to is no other than yourself so be kind to yourself as often as you can to be an expert to being kind.
Step 4: Being with a friend
Remember the saying “no man is an island”? People need people, and surrounding yourself with friends is the best thing you can do to lift up your spirit. Being with friends helps take away one’s mind from pressing issues and in most cases being with someone to talk with simply takes the blues away.
Step 5: Laugh at something
With many hilarious videos on YouTube, it’s easy to find something to laugh at. You can also watch funny TV shows, grab hilarious books or log in to funny blogs. Whatever means you have, finding something to laugh at helps calm the nerves. Laughing it out with friends even makes it more beneficial.
Step 6: Eat happy foods
Dark chocolates and strawberries are just two of the foods that releases the chemicals like dopamine that sets a happy feeling. Snacking on some helps the nerve to release the chemicals and therefore create a natural happy mood. When one is happy, blues can’t sink in.
Step 7: Have sex
Married couples should enjoy the freedom of bedroom activities more so as to kick stress out, which is the culprit for feeling down. In a fascinating health report, sex is considered much better than money in making one feel happy. Hence, many with partners can enjoy it free.
When you’re playing the blues, you could be welcoming health woes so as much as possible trying something to lift the spirit is a single way to kick both out. And, kicking both out is as simple as those steps listed above.
