Software project management are only worth a while if they satisfy the real needs and objectives of stakeholders. In other words having to identify objectives and making sure such objectives are met is the basis of any successful project. Basically, the premise of project management is based on the notion that one knows the task and how it is going to be carried out before they even start.

This also means that projects worth undertaking only if the outcome is worth the investment, be it time or money. There are however cases where a certain task had been repeated so many times to an extent that planning is hardly necessary. In such cases everybody knows what needs to Be done and what the most likely outcome would be.
