Connecting to the Internet and sending emails

How do I connect to the Internet
To be able to connect to the internet, one has to talk and possibly signup for Internet service with an ISP (Internet Service Provider). These are usually large Telecommunication companies with high powered serves and networking infrastructure. Normally you will have three options for the kind of connection to take; one is the Analogue or dial-up service. This is among the slower and yet more affordable connection type for home use. With this kind of connection you are using your telephone line to dial into the provider's network, once you are connected to the provider's network, you can start using the internet.
Another option is what is called ISDN for Integrated Services Digital Network. It uses a digital telephone service that provides fast data transmission over existing copper telephone wiring. This is much faster than dial-up or analogue.
The third option you have is the wireless connection. A lot of ISP have upgraded their network to provide faster and better quality signal for internet connections. This is the fastest method to connect to the Internet and transfer large amounts of data. It is available for both business and household use. It is among the most expensive ways to connect. However, You can still connect to slightly slower and cheaper wireless connections such as the GPRS which most mobile phones use to connect to the internet.
Creating an email Account
For one to be able to send an email (for Electronic mail), one has to have an email account. This is considered your mail identity. It is used to identify the sender and provide you with space to receive mail from other people. To signup for a free email address such as Yahoo or Gmail, you simply go t their sites, find a link for "Creating a new email account", As soon as you signup, some amount of space is allocated to you. You can start sending emails to your friends and/or tell your friends to start sending you emails. Usually your email address would look like this: your_name@gmail.com or your_name@yahoo.com . Just remember to keep your login credentials secret to prevent other people from looking at your email without your consent.
Sending emails
To send an email to anyone, you need to know their email address. This is like ordinary mail, before you send a letter to somebody, you have to know their address and write it on the envelop for the post office to know where to forward your letter. The same goes for email, without the recipient's email address; you will not be able to send them an email.
Once you have the recipient's email address, click on the compose link in your email client. Type the recipient's email address in the field named "TO", then enter the subject telling your recipient what your email is about. Once you have that in place, you can type your message in the body or the large field.
If you have a document or file to send to your friend, you can click on the link called "Attach file". This will open up a box to let you select the file you would like to send. You select the file and click okay. The program will then attach your file to the email. All you have to do now is make sure you are ready to send and click the "Send" button. You are done!!!
